
GMT VOCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
We are thrilled to announce our inaugural scholarship: a $1,500 award designed to support individuals pursuing skilled labor career paths and vocational education.
Our mission is to advocate vocational education and skilled trades by streamlining and enhancing the talent pipeline for industries facing a critical need for skilled professionals.
Below are the rules and guidelines for the scholarship:
Who is eligible for this scholarship?
Be a high school senior, high school graduate or have a GED equivalent.
Plan to attend a trade or skilled labor program after January 1, 2025.
Be enrolled in a 2-year college program, an accredited trade or skilled labor program, vocational school, or technical institution.
No GPA requirement.
What programs are ineligible?
Four-year college or bachelor’s degree programs are not eligible.
Scholarships are one time offered, one time received.
What trade or skilled labor programs are eligible for scholarship applications?
Automotive Repair (Gas or Diesel)
Automotive Collision
Motorcycle Repair, Small Engine Repair, Marine Mechanic.
Construction (carpentry, furniture or cabinet building, masonry)
Cosmetology (hairstyling, barbery, nail technology, esthetic)
Culinary Art
Early Education
Fire Science and Technology
HVAC
Law Enforcement
Information Technology (computer support, cybersecurity, website design data analytics)
Manufacturing (robotics, automation, smart technology)
Nursing (practical nurse only)
Plumbing
Welding
If your trade or skilled labor program is not listed, your program may not be eligible for scholarship application.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Submit a polished resume that effectively highlights your skills, experience and achievements. The purpose of this is to have a resume for job readiness.
Read and sign the GMT Path, Purpose, Promise oath.
Answer the following questions in essay format. Keep answers brief. (Maximum 200 words per question)
What are your career goals?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
What does having a good work ethic mean to you?
Include high school or college transcript.
Two letters of recommendation (from employer, teacher, or administrator)
State your intent of enrollment in trade school or college.
Proof of enrollment when scholarship funds are accepted. Failure to do so will null and void scholarship.

Applications open January 15, 2025
Applications close March 31, 2025, at 12:00 Midnight CST (to qualify, your application needs to be in by this date/time)
Scholarship winners will be notified by April 30, 2025
Funds distributed May 2025

I promise to do my best to seek a career path that fits my lifestyle, my passion, and my future.
I believe that education and work-based learning can lead me to a path of success. I also understand that soft skills and etiquette are part of the foundation of learning.
I commit to exploring all career opportunities, including work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, community college, and other avenues beyond traditional four-year college programs.
I promise to take time to pursue educational opportunities while continuing to work in the field I have chosen. As this model allows me to support my growth in my career choice.
I acknowledge that every day presents a new opportunity to learn and grow. I commit to showing up on time, being prepared to work, and giving my best effort, even if it means staying late or attending classes after work.
When I have chosen a career path, I understand education is crucial to my career growth. I will do my best to learn as much as I can from whatever source is available to me.
My purpose in life is to be happy in my job and to give back to others who have chosen the same career path as me.
I will do all I can to be responsible for my finances. I will analyze my lifestyle and do my best to stay within my budget. The purpose of this is to have a work life balance and reduce life stress level.
When I become a master of my industry, I promise to share my knowledge with others and support my colleagues. I promise to support others in time of need.
I promise to support the industry of my choice. To give purpose to my performance every day at work, school or in my personal life. If I do these things the path, I have chosen will bring me the happiness I am seeking.
By signing this contract, I acknowledge and commit to upholding the principles outlined in the TEN Promise Oath. I pledge to approach my career and industry with integrity, dedication, and respect, striving to fulfill these promises to the best of my ability.
