2021 Car Raffle
The "Give Me Ten" auto industry partners had a 2011 Chevy Equinox donated to a campus. The campus students, with the help of their instructors, rebuilt the vehicle from the ground up. The collision students cleaned up the car and even painted ghost stripes on it. The Tech Campus then held a raffle for the rebuilt car.
The car was showcased at the school's advisory meeting. The car then traveled throughout the county and was showcased at the various independent auto repair shops that have participated in the internship program.
This car helps bring dialogue to the table about our industry struggles, and how we, as an industry, can help replenish the talent pool - one student at a time.
A portion of the proceeds were given to Mother's Trust Foundation, a local charity that supports our students and their families in Lake County, Illinois.
The remainder of the proceeds were put towards the Tech Campus Tool Scholarship Fund for our automotive students.
